Planning three months in advance for the IELTS exam is a good strategy as it allows you enough time to cover all the necessary sections thoroughly. Here's a suggested plan:

Month 1: Familiarization and Foundation

  1. Diagnostic Test: Start with a full-length IELTS practice test to identify your strengths and weaknesses.

  2. Understand the Format: Familiarize yourself with the structure of the IELTS exam, including the different sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).

  3. Basic Skills Practice:

  • Listening: Practice listening to English audio materials, focusing on comprehension and note-taking.

  • Reading: Read a variety of texts (articles, essays, news) and practice skimming, scanning, and understanding details.

  • Writing: Begin with basic writing tasks such as describing everyday activities or writing short essays on common topics.

  • Speaking: Practice speaking about familiar topics and answering questions fluently and coherently.

Month 2: Intensive Practice

  1. Sectional Practice:

  • Listening: Practice listening to different accents and topics, focusing on understanding main ideas and specific details.

  • Reading: Practice different question types (multiple-choice, true/false/not given, matching headings) under timed conditions.

  • Writing: Practice writing task 1 (report writing) and task 2 (essay writing) under timed conditions, focusing on structure, vocabulary, and coherence.
